Does your painting have losses to its surface, or a visible loss of paint? Then this will be what is needed! Once the paint layers are stabilised, filling the losses and retouching them will hide the damage.
Paintings are not immune to superficial damage from physical forces such as a scratching, tears, scuffs or worse! When tears are repaired, or the losses are purely to the paint layers and not below, they require some work to re-integrate them so that they don’t become an eye-sore!
Filling to the surface of a painting or frame levels reintegrates the loss superficially to stabilise the area and prepare it for retouching. This means that when retouching the painting, it will generally unify the appearance of the artwork making it coherently appear as a whole image, rather than as an obvious area of damage.
We will select the most appropriate medium to conduct the treatments to return your artwork to a unified, full image.
